Tumblr is the reason I know about all of the cool things to do in Los Angeles, and it's how I've met a bunch of good friends. Technically, it's a blogging platform, but it's more community oriented than your average Wordpress installation (the primary focus is on finding and sharing new content from all over the internet), and it's less creepy than Livejournal (it's mostly artists, filmmakers, designers, writers, etc., rather than dudes who, like, totally think you guys should meet up in real life, cause age is just a number, and those pictures he wants to take of you will be really tasteful. Promise.)
It's Twitter. We all know what Twitter is. Fox News does, like, a million stories on it ("Is your child using Twitter for SEX?!?!" "How can Twitter make your business successful?" "How is Twitter running your business into the ground?"). Click it if you know what to do with it. It's just madcap frivolity, either way.
